Rosa Barrios C.
Consultant
Having worked for numerous initiatives and projects for the conservation and sustainable management of the Amazon Basin for 25+ years, Rosa dedicated her career to work on the ground with a variety of stakeholders, through designing and implementing environmental and social policies, training and mentorship for land government and forest development, and building strategies for biodiversity conservation in Latin America.
Her background working with environmental governmental agencies, non-profits, private sector, academia and indigenous peoples and local communities organizations, gave Rosa a strong understanding of forest dynamics and land use sector as well as climate and development policies and institutional frameworks, while led her to live in the jungle for several years strengthening capacities of subnational governments, supporting locally led development, legal land owning, protected areas management, as well as combat wildlife trafficking.
